Yoshihide Kozai, Astromoner (1928 – 2018) R.I.P.
Yoshihide Kozai died this month, his celestial mechanics research when applied to earth-orbiting objects is embedded in the early work on the SGP algorithms used by all of us to predict satellite positions. Applied in increasingly larger contexts, his theory contributes to stellar system orbital dynamics and the merging of black holes.
